According to local media, 199 injured are still being treated in local hospitals for exposure to the chemical, some of them in critical condition.

The Jordanian port of Aqaba is located at the northeastern tip of the Red Sea and is the only seaport in Jordan. Operations at the port were initially suspended after the accident, but later on the 27th, port officials said port operations were continuing and they had ordered ships operating at the port to stay away from the accident area.
